Parenting Conference 2015

Families today face unsurmountable challenges and issues like never before. The advancement in technology, particularly in gaming and social media, and the unrelenting pressures of being in a rat race, are prominent factors that lead to breakdown in relationships between individuals, parent-children and families.
This conference addresses these issues, focusing on the importance of leadership, work balance, healthy communication, and social and emotional interactions in family relationships. The aim is to build strong family units and to inspire our children to be resilient and responsible persons.

Enjoyed this Parenting Conference.

FGA offers some children program as well on the same day and children are well fed, enjoyed the games and activities, and us -  the parents can fully concentrate on the Parenting Conference. No more excuses that you are not able to attend. On the fees, its a minimal of RM80 per couple and RM15 for children 6-12 years old. Below 5 is FOC.

Its great to refresh our parenting guideline and method every few years as we are not perfect parent after all - trying to keep track. Demanding society, economy and the growth of our children has made us being a stronger parent.

We focus on the dad this round. How dad plays an important role in shaping the child.

ONG - ALS Babbling Comedy from Korea Live in KL comedy Fest 2015

Thanks Chris for the awesome ticket.
Super hilarious as we repeat the scene over n over in the car with the kids.  A true bonding for everyone. Coming back from the show,  we dig their video on youtube and still laughing. Of course, to be witness it live, is totally a different experience and would be cherished at all time.

Digging on,  hubby further for its background and me busy checking out at their handsome non theater face on instagram. Love their talent.

Ong-als has been around since 2007. We was like wow!  It really took lots of training,  persistence,  patience and team work to make it happen to international stage. Very very inspirational.

Reviewing our routine,  reflecting our lives,  we had a lot to learn. Everything in our live inspires us. We just need to find one who does the most.

I am a big fan of NANTA back in Korea but Ong-als taken some of the share now.   Almost all. Can't emphasize this more,  if they are happen to be in your country,  it's a well worth show to watch with your family.  Like X 1000000000 times.  Laughter from beginning till ending. When they pronounce 'END' you would want more.... addictive.

Ok skip the drama. But it was really great guys. Here is the official write-up to share:

Ong-als is a highly entertaining,  skillful and inventive production,  Babbling comedy,  Korean quartets, Ong-als, display impressive slapstick,  clown,  mime, exaggerated physical comedy,  beat box brilliance and exceptional juggling abilities.

The team need not utter a word,  only by reaction can put a big smile to all of us. Big note: Jaden was crying for hotdog bread opposite the photo booth,  but they manage to make him chuckles in split seconds. :)

Ong-als took the stage and crowd away. :)

Missing them.  Do come back for more!! All the best and Thank you again for the lovely afternoon!

Celebrating Decades of Malaysian Cuisine: The Launch of the Ten Years Restaurant

Celebrating Decades of Malaysian Cuisine: The Launch of the Ten Years Restaurant

Sri Petaling, 17 September 2015: Malaysia is well-known as a food haven, with famous culinary destinations all over the country. From the Char Kuey Teow of Pulau Pinang to Tawau’s Nasi Kuning, Malaysia’s flavours span across various states and cultures, a treasure trove for foodies and critics. To enjoy the best of Malaysian cuisine under one roof, the Ten Years Restaurant welcomes diners of all ages to savour the nation’s most famous fares.

Steeped in history, Malaysian cuisine is a mix of cultures including Malay, Peranakan, Chinese and Indian specialties. With a passion to protect the street flavours that have emerged from this mix, seven friends came together to establish an avenue to house the best of these diverse and decades long favourite tastes – allowing all Malaysians, young and old, to share their culinary adventures, hence the name, Ten Years.

“Ten Years was established with the aim to preserve Malaysian cuisine for the later generations, and protect these recipes that may otherwise disappear after the owner retires or passes on, especially if their children does not want to take over their business. No doubt there are many versions of these delicacies, the ‘1st generation’ taste is lost. Ten Years aims to preserve and promote this original and ‘1st generation’ taste,” shares founders Victor Bong. “Malaysian cuisine is amazing; it is prepared with a variety of herbs and spices, yet the end note is a flavour that is distinctly Malaysian. To keep these traditions alive, it is important to safeguard our food culture, which is both our identity and heritage, and help them flourish.”

“Our restaurants, Ten Years, are themed around evoking memories – a link to the past eras such as the 70’s, the 80’s and the 90’s through our restaurant décor which combines the old and new at once, in a comfortable setting,” Bong adds. “To guarantee the best dining experience, we will uphold stringent selection processes for all food operators, ensuring that they maintain quality standards. The restaurants are designed to appeal to everyone, regardless of age, background and ethnicity.”

Operating on a unique business concept, Ten Years caters to the needs of franchisees recipe owners. They are open to partnering with hawkers, or restaurant owners owning signature Malaysian recipes, to safeguard their recipes for future generations, as well as developing a financial model for a passive income, while franchise owners are supported by Ten Years’ strong marketing, branding and operation infrastructure.

Among the specialty unique Malaysian dishes served at Ten Years includes ‘Nancy Nyonya Laksa’ from Melaka, ‘T&T Prawn Mee’ and ‘Tiger Char Koey Teow’ from Pulau Pinang and ‘Nasi Dagang Kak Pah’ from Terengganu. Ten Years also have their own specialties, called FUSION, that are inspired by traditional dishes from all over Malaysia – For example, ‘Lamb Masak Merah with 3 Colour Rice’ is based off Johor style merah, while ‘Grilled Chicken Percik Sauce’ is a twist from Kelantan’s popular dish. Servings start at a reasonable rate of RM12.90.

The Ten Years concept features dining areas for different eras, in line with a ‘through the ages’ theme, with inspired settings that seamlessly meld cultures and history. With the various spaces available, Ten Years offers a venue for a variety of events, ranging from private functions to corporate gatherings. For convenience, Ten Years also offers various services such as in-house projectors, WIFI internet and television to complement top-rated Malaysian cuisine. The restaurant also offers packages for business talks, presentations, celebrations and other occasions.

Each restaurant is designed to be an attractive food hub, with the management sourcing the best recipe owners in each category. Training programmes and extensive Standard Operating Procedures work towards recreating the same standards faithfully, with little hassle to both license and recipe owners. Ten Years plans to open 40 outlets in Malaysia by 2017. In the long term, Ten Years aspires to expand overseas, with branches across all ASEAN Countries as well as targeting to establish 200 outlets in China by 2020.

Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with D’Kingz Premium Vegetarian Snow Skin Musang King Durian Mooncakes

As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, many look forward to the moon cake, which is almost synonymous with the annual celebration. This year, D’king, a premium durian mooncake brand, introduces its vegetarian snow skin musang king durian mooncake, which are handmade and does not contain preservatives and artificial flavouring.  Instead, it is packed with the highest-grade Musang King durians sourced from Pahang. It is the perfect gift for corporate clients and for the family this coming Mid-Autumn Festival. Traditionally, these handmade cakes were shared with family members to signify completeness and the unity of families.

You can cut this direct after taking out from the freezer.

“Unlike most mooncakes, which utilise processed filling, D’king mooncake is prepared with the actual durian flesh.  Once the durians arrive, we peel them and remove the flesh immediately to prepare the mooncake filling.  If we wait too long, the durians would break open on its own, and the aroma and taste would be lost,” shares Simon Chin, founder of D’king.  “Last year, our D24 mooncake was very well received, so this year, we decided to go for the most premium durian, which is the famous Musang King.  The Musang King was selected for the creamy and sticky flesh, with its strong scent and flavour that melts in your mouth.”

“Another unique feature is its delicate snow skin that is light-textured yet uniquely bouncy.  The snow skin also has to be thin enough to emphasize the filling but strong enough to hold it all in.  The snow skin is made from a secret recipe which we have created after many rounds of trials.  Our pastry chef has nearly a decade of experience behind him and he is extremely particular about perfecting the taste,” added Chin.

D’king has been available by telephone order in Malaysia since 2012 and caters to a list of loyal customers.  The durian mooncake had really taken off in China and Hong Kong, and is a favourite amongst several celebrities there. During the official visit by President of China Xi Jinping to Putrajaya Residence in 2013, D’king was honoured to showcase products made from the King of Fruits, including the D’King durian mooncake.

D’king vegetarian snow skin musang king durian mooncake is sold in sets of eight 60g mooncakes, at RM128 per set, although there is currently a promotional price of RM98 per set.  Delivery is free if two or more sets are purchased.  To order, please whatsapp 012-664 8797 with the following format:

The First-Ever PLAY-DOH® Month Celebration!!

Come and Experience the First-Ever PLAY-DOH® Month Celebration!

Let Malaysia’s Colourful Community inspire your kids to create their best PLAY-DOH® sculptures and be part of The Malaysia Book of Records attempt!

A healthy imagination plays an important role in helping children learn, and for over 50 years, PLAY-DOH® has inspired young children to play, invent, experiment and sculpt their own unique creations.
That’s why the first-ever PLAY-DOH® Month is such exciting news!

From September 21 to 27 at Ground Floor HighStreet, 1 Utama, adults and children alike get the chance to create their own Malaysia-inspired masterpieces out of PLAY-DOH® – it can be anything you choose, be it sculptures or numbers and alphabets.
As you create and re-create, you also get the chance to participate in The Malaysia Book of Records attempt for the most PLAY-DOH® sculptures created in a single day on September 26 (Saturday), and a successful attempt will see your PLAY-DOH® creations on display for all Malaysians to admire, with the most creative sculptures winning exciting PLAY-DOH® prizes!
With PLAY-DOH® there’s really no limit to your imagination, and you can even work in teams or as a family to create something special by sharing ideas. As a tool to encourage learning and experimentation, it’s hard to beat PLAY-DOH® – through hands-on, structured play and encouragement children can learn many skills, from recognising shapes and colours to learning how colours mix and blend, and even social and intellectual skills such as collaboration and problem-solving.

Here we are with the dough:

Here are some video on packaging and the cover is air tight.

Love the colours of PLAYDOH in this series. Added with neon series brings up items that we are making.
Love the small packaging as it's easy for light travel and teaching kids on colour is easy too. Try to mix the colour and you could also teach primary colour of red. Blue. Yellow. In oppose to secondary colour of orange. Green and purple.
You and your kids can get started to “Shape a Colourful Community” with some of these tips:
Step 1: Work as a team with your kids to imagine what everyone in the family think will best and most positively represent Malaysia. You can even draw your ideas out first using colourful marker pens, colour pencils, or crayons.
Jaden always love underwater world - he loves fishes, all kinds of corals, sea and even want to be a diver when he grow up, and own an aquarium center for divers.
We come up with a theme of underwater world
"COLOURFUL SEA COMMUNITY MALAYSIA FEATURING OUR BEST BEACH - SAVE AND PROTECT THE TURTLE AND SHARK. MAY WE LEAVE THE BEAUTIFUL BEACH AND NATURE FOR OUR BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN".
Step 2: Materialise your idea using PLAY-DOH® compound. Do experiment and encourage each other as you go along. You can combine the different colours and mix them well with fingers until they become a different colour, just like this :

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COLOUR
Yellow + Blue = Green
Red + Blue = Purple
Yellow +Red = Orange.

Happy experimenting!

and use any other items you have ready in the house to press patterns and make various shapes with the compound.

You can use all stuff at home for the project. To make the lines, shapes, or just dough with hands.
PLAYDOH can be washed with water easily, so be creative and be dirty.
Child learns through play ;)
Sharp items are to use with supervisory.

Step 3: Watch as you and your children transition your flat design into a colourful 3D Malaysia-inspired masterpiece creation!
Happy Boy, he is staying up so late to finish up together. He is very excited to see the outcome very much like the one he sketches.
Thank you PLAYDOH for making the family bonding possible with this colourful dough. Mummy does slow down to do this project together. Putting off houseworks, cleaning and packing on hold, here we are with PLAYDOH.

Lovely family bonding as we talk about the environment, about how we should protect the nature and sea creatures, dough and mold every details of the piece, and how to blend in the colours of each item on the sketch so that it looks colourful.

And the end products:
Colourful and truly a colourful Community - For us to treasure, the history, the originate, just like PLAYDOH - its for generations.

CHATIME Lauching of Thai Tea Fest

It was a great weekend with Cha time sporty marketing team. Themed Thai Fest, we are greeted with Thai Tea, Thai tattoo and Thai girls and boys a.k.a great marketing team. Not to forget great Thai accessory and props for the photo booth.

We spent the longest time at their SS2 branch - simply cosy.
Sorry Jessica, your best seller ice chocolate drink is vanished by the time I want to take a picture of it.
Kids love the drink!

With the spirit to bring the authentic Thai experience to fellow Malaysians, Chatime is launching a special one-month Thai Tea Festival that gives consumers a rare chance to try out their latest offerings the Pearl Thai Milk Tea and the ice-blended Coconut Top Thai Milk Tea that are infused with modern elements that bring out the Thai essence in the drinks.

Both offerings are passionately crafted by Chatime and Taiwan’s in-house tea experts using the only the finest ingredients to create the best tea-drinking experience:

With a perfect brew of Thailand’s finest black tea leaves added with creamer, the fragrant and creamy texture of Pearl Thai Milk Tea is perfectly complemented with the addition of Chatime’s signature tapioca pearls that offers a distinctive, chewy taste of fragrant brown sugar.

Chatime is also spicing up its innovative tea-making expertise by enhancing the traditional flavours of Thai Milk Tea with the addition of modern and stylish elements into its Coconut Top Thai Milk Tea. Coolly blended with ice, the beverage is topped with the finest candied grated coconut shavings. The result is a flavourful yet refreshing satisfaction that can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

The new Chatime Pearl Thai Milk Tea is now available at RM6.50 (Regular) and RM7.50 (Large) while Coconut Top Thai Milk Tea is priced at RM8.50. The Thai Milk Tea series can be purchased at all Chatime outlets except Queensbay Mall, Penang and will be available for a limited period of time from 14th September onwards, while stocks last.

“Thai Milk Tea is a beverage that is enjoyed by many people from around the world. However, despite its popularity, the opportunity for consumers to enjoy the milk tea is still very limited, mainly at Thai restaurants in Malaysia. Therefore, with the launch of our new beverage series, we aim to bring the savoury, thirst-quenching taste of Thai Milk Tea to all our customers while at the same time, infusing our own local fusion that is appealing to Malaysians.” said Bryan Loo, Managing Director of Chatime Malaysia.

My Verdict: I love Thai Pearl Tea, Coconut Top Thai Milk is ok for me, but too icy for the kids. In general, a great innovation. Truly a great Thai Fest. Best regards.

In addition to previous benefits, the new prepaid system allows customers to top up money into their Thirstea card to be used for their next purchase and enjoy a truly cashless purchasing experience. So now even if you forget to bring your wallet or run out of money after a crazy shopping spree, Chatime customers are able to purchase their favourite drinks anytime, anywhere without needing to worry about their cash situation.

As part of the launch of Thirstea Ringgit, Chatime will offer a promotion with the Thirstea loyalty card that rewards customers for trying out the new service. Putting its usual innovative spin on things, Chatime will also be launching a mobile application to coincide with the launch of their Thirstea Ringgit system in October 2015. Through the new Chatime Malaysia app, customers can stay connected to the latest Chatime news and promotions and receive freebies directly sent to their mobile phones. With the introduction of Thirstea Ringgit, the app will also allow Thirstea card members to pay, reload and keep tabs on their loyalty rewards no matter where they are. This latest development is the first step of Chatime’s latest initiative to help bring the company towards the digital frontier and improving the overall customer engagement with the brand.

“As Chatime continues to dominate its presence in Malaysia by seeking innovative and quality tea beverages, we wish to further reward our Thirstea card members, who have been our most loyal customers that have contributed to our success, with a new platform to maximize their values and experiences at all our outlets.”

“With the latest addition of Thirstea Ringgit into Chatime’s Thirstea card, members are able to conveniently purchase any of our beverages with the swipe of a card. Whether the member is an avid tea connoisseur or trendy café hopper, the enhanced Thirstea card is dedicated to bring the enjoyment of our beverages with a more personalized appeal,” said Loo.
