Walk for Autism 2015

"Walk for Autism 2015"

Date 16.8.2015
Venue Citta mall

A great event with the presence of 1800 attendees raising RM60,000 for NASOM. Thanks to organising committee and sponsors and glad we made it to Citta Mall for a great cause.

We manage to meet 'Mr Blue Batman' at the finish lines. Big bikes to keep us company and special gratitude and thanks to all volunteers to make this success a smooth one.
Some great bonding moments can be seen along the walks - daddy carrying little ones, joyful kids, happy faces. More photos will be released by official photographer in due time.
Autism Walk 2015.

This lil one manage to wake up at 5.30am. Thus, tagging him along. His first walk of 3.5km and he enjoyed it. Manage to explain to him the meaning behind the walk - and the bikes presence really excites him....

Kudos to Mr Chew, the man behind the Blue Batman suit. He heads a group of volunteers and belief me that its a no joke wearing this outfit for 1 hour plus for this event - it's all for charity and community and he certainly grab the attention of many. His great presence cheers everyone and thanks again for the great effort. Hope to see you soon. ;)

The National Autism Society of Malaysia ( NASOM ) is a non-profit, non-governmental welfare organisation which was formed in 1986 by a group of parents and professionals. It was registered on 3rd March 1987, as a national voluntary charitable organisation and aims at providing education, help, cares and protection for people with autism and their family members. Currently, NASOM has established 16 Early Intervention Programmes and 3 Vocational Programmes for people inflicted with autism in Malaysia.

Autism is a form of complex developmental disorder which generally can be identified within the first three years of a child...'s life. Autism is a lifelong developmental disorder that blocks the learning, language, communication, emotional and social development of a child. The range of symptoms of autism are wide, sometimes so mild that a child can function in a regular classroom with special services and at other times so severe that a child is mute and institutionalized.
