The benefit of getting a refurbish laptop or desktop over a new unit

Why would one choose refurbished computer unit over a new one? Well, given that commercial model are more lasting and more stable in running the software and program. As most of the unit comes from oversea office and school, it's about durability. With it's reasonable pricing and the condition of refurbished is comparable against the new, why pay more? I come across APR Electronic Services at Sunway Damansara and here are my findings:

Besides selling new and refurbished desktop and laptop, buy back computers if it's suitable and new, APR also lease their desktop, laptop and printer on project basis. One could get a quote by mentioning the quantity needed and the period of time and e-mail to repair@apr-es.com. This will save some money  instead to have a one time outright purchase of new unit, and not knowing what to do with the units bought after the event ended. 

APR has been in the laptop refurbishment business since 2000. Most of the laptop and PC is bought from oversea from corporate companies, and will be renewed or repair. Once working well, it will be sold as a refurbished unit with warranty of 6 months which could be extended to a year with RM50 additional. You can also bring in a laptop or desktop just like me for a repair, with a warranty of 3 months.

For new computers that we purchase from other suppliers, APR do have 3rd party extended warranty service up to a year, that they partnered with AIG insurance. For HP brands, the warranty could be extended to 2 years.

I had a fast service at APR when I bring my old desktop for service earlier. I just need to walk in to APR between Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, where the staff will check the condition and give me a quote on the spare parts if it needs repair. Usually this is done on a phone call before they do any repair. A service note is given before you leave the office - on the quote if it's known and what item to repair. There is no charges when I didn't want to pursue with the repair as it is more worthwhile to get a refurbished unit. 

APR do have a lot of latest technology to format the data on computers entirely, where we are assured that no can could retrieve back the data. They even obtain a certification of this. Amazing.

APR does have a wide range of spare parts and usually it took 1-7 days if items like specific chip sets need to order from China. While the common spare parts are readily in stock, almost 90% of spare parts that market needs. 

Here are some branded power supply and motherboard of old and new models, which includes DELL, HP, LENOVO, and LACER. 

Here I was shown a laptop which consist of 4 panels. if there are any damage piece, it will cost about Rm180- RM200 for replacement. Usually the cut off period for order is every Friday, thus to take note if you need any spare parts urgently.

There are even a machine to check the battery level of the laptop and battery can be reactivate with this if the current battery performance is slowing down.

Refurbished Iphones are also available with 1 years warranty over motherboard, 3 months warranty on the battery and screen.

APR also distributes mobile accessory for brands like "PINENG" power banks and "SARDINE" blue tooth speakers.
