This Christmas, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, welcomes you to its biggest and brightest celebration – Christmas Sparkles.
Over 1,000 distinguished guests and shoppers graced the celebration, which was conceptualized based on the joyfulness and sparkles of the holiday season. In partnership with Swarovski, the two premium lifestyle brands will take you on a journey that aims to enrich the festive season, and add sparkles to everyone’s lives.
The main highlight and centre of attraction at the event is Swarovski’s 23 meter tall Christmas tree that was inspired by the brand’s Christmas Collection with Miranda Kerr. Made up entirely of crystal strands, the tree sparkles and shines with more than 3,100 crystal strands, which amounts to a staggering total of 174,853 pieces of individual crystals. Valued at approximately RM3 million, it is the very first Swarovski Christmas tree in Malaysia and also the tallest Swarovski Christmas tree in Asia.

At the launch of the event earlier today, guests were greeted by the soothing notes and tunes of professional pianist, Charmaine Lai, and violinist, Josh Kua. Live mannequins paraded, displaying the latest fashion collection by renowned fashion designer Khoon Hooi that brought the Swarovski Fall/Winter 2015 collection to life. Canapés and champagne were also provided throughout the event as guests were treated to various magical and sparkling Christmas performances that kept the audience entranced.
The star-studded event was facilitated by the beautiful and multitalented, Deborah Henry, who kept the crowd excited and enthusiastic throughout. In attendance was Ms. Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Mr. Aymeric Lacroix, Managing Director of
Swarovski, Consumer Goods Business, South East Asia who officiated the event by lighting up the magnificent Swarovski Christmas tree. Media friends and shoppers alike watched in amazement as the crystal tree sparkled to life as colourful confetti burst into the skies, signalling the start of a sparkling and joyous festive season for all.

Ms. Joyce Yap expressed that the partnership with Swarovski was made with the intention of allowing all shoppers to experience a Christmas that fosters sparkling memories of joy and hope, in-line with the traditional significance of Christmas. “Christmas is always highly anticipated because of the feel-good factor that comes with the celebration. Through our partnership with Swarovski, we offer our shoppers the invaluable experience of witnessing the tallest Swarovski Christmas tree in Asia. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Aymeric Lacroix said, “We are extremely delighted to unveil the Swarovski Christmas Tree, the tallest indoor Christmas tree in Asia and we are very proud to collaborate with Pavilion Kuala Lumpur during this holiday season. During this festival period, our aim is to ignite the joyful spirit of Christmas in everyone.”
Founder of the Malaysia Book of Records, Tan Sri Danny Ooi was also in attendance during this historic moment, to present Pavilion Kuala Lumpur with an award that recognised its Christmas tree as the Tallest Swarovski Christmas tree in Malaysia.
The atmosphere at the celebration was brought to a climax when a flash mob performance to the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams surprised the crowd. Over 500 fans of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur were also part of the dance, in an initiative by the mall to engage with its fans during this season of joy. The exciting performance, which extended to three floors above the Centre Court, grabbed the attention of many who joined in and danced the evening away, marking the grand launch to the beginning of a one-of-a-kind sparkling Christmas in Kuala Lumpur.
