We spent 5 hour in SEA Aquarium Singapore!

Yes, you hear it right. Haha. Initially when we ask how long we could expect to complete the entire tour of the aquarium. I was told we could finish it in 45 minutes. Here is how we ended up with 5 hours. I must say it's a must visit attraction if you are in Singapore. This is one of the best in South East Asia.

I ask Jaden what is so special in SEA Aquarium. He puts into summary that there is Hammerhead sharks, Reef Manta Ray, Nurse Shark, Giant Moray Eel, Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin, Giant Spider Crab and many more. Excitely, he show us around and go from one aquarium to another then go back to see the earlier.

Do you know that S.E.A. Aquarium is a home to more than 100,000 marine animals of over 1,000 species, across 50 different habitats?

We start with Shark Sea Habitat, where it has about 100 sharks of 12 species, including Hammerheads and a 3-metre long Nurse shark. Next to it is a Shipwreck habitat area - this is where we spent the most time - whereby there is a sunken ship where schools of fish are to be seen and do check out the feeding time here. 

There is a daily photo session with Mai the Manta that you won't want to miss at 2.45pm and 3.45pm. He will normally be at the Open Ocean Habitat area, where the dome are. We are there during the Merry Fishmas, so we had Santa during the photo shoot too! ;)

Food and Beverage is conveniently available at the Open Ocean Habitat area, and you can grab a snack or two while enjoying the Open Ocean view of beautiful underwater species. 

The view is magnificent and we can easily spent about 40 minutes there. During the feeding session, we enjoy looking at the manta ray eating the given small fishes. If you want more, you could book a table for lunch or dinner at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora next to it. Sadly, it was fully book when we are there - school holiday and boxing day.

Jelly fish we name it but in Singapore, it's call Sea Jelly or Sea Nettle. With the changing colour lighting, it makes the sea jelly looks like some colourful neon lighted art. Stunning!

We had to stand about 10-15 minute to get a nearer glimpse of the dolphin, As they swim from a far, taking a high jump and going around, you will need to wait for them to come over from another end. It's worth to wait as those dolphins are really beautiful. They are fast and this is the best shot I had. Haha truth is I am too busy looking at them - the real dolphin - so you had to check them out yourself when you are there. 

Kids had a lot of fun looking at the souvenirs just opposite the dolphin aquarium. Manta Ray, dolphins and sharks soft toy are some of the favourites and we got one shark puppets as so my girl could sing baby shark do do do do.. with it all day long. Haha. 

Next, there are Nemo! Clownfish we name it.Beautiful corals can also be seen clearly with a magnifying lens from the glass view.

Just a walkway, kids could then queue to have a feel of sea urchins, starfish and sea cucumbers - the texture, colours. Good thing is there is some tissue for you to pat dry your hand before proceeding to the toilet just next to the place to get your hand washed.

When we are here, the bigger gift shop near the exit is under renovation, and there will be a lot more species of fishes coming up in the aquarium.

Another highlight near the seahorses, will be an underneath glass walkway where some sting rays and fishes are swimming which attracts the kids as they walk by.

When we thinks that the visit has ended, we reached the National Geographic Photo Exhibition where it shows the best of unique marine life up close in photography. It is lovely and 15 minutes spent. 

Okay it has been 5 hours and finally hand up happily that the parents are spared to go!
